ICAR-CIFRI organized an on-field workshop under TSP at MurshidabadDistrict,WB
An on-field workshop was organized by ICAR-CIFRI onInland Fisheries Management with special emphasis on Beel fisheries under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) at Paharpur, Murshidabad, West Bengal on 22 October, 2016. Total 170 fishers including 42 fisher women participated in the programme. Various lectures on Inland Fisheries Management and field practical of water analysis also were done. Training materials were distributed among the trainees. During interactive sessionpertinent questions were asked by the stakeholders relevant to fish production system, fish health including beelfisheries development. The programme created a lot of enthusiasm among the stakeholders. The Paharpur Fisheries Co-operative Society members were very much interested to enhance productivity of Bhandardahabeel, the life line of the village. The team CIFRI have suggested the target population to develop ecology and fisheries of the beel through participatory management.
