NutriFishIN is a database containing nutritional information on food fishes of India from varieties of habitats including freshwater, coldwater, brackish water and marine systems.
The database has been developed under the ICAR-funded Outreach Activity on "Nutrient Profiling and Evaluation of Fish as a Dietary Component".
The main feature of the database is information on food fishes in terms of gross chemical composition, amino acids, fatty acids and micronutrients.
NutriFishIN also contains an in-built knowledge base providing information on the richness of different fish species in different food components. This information can support dietary counselling by physicians, nutritionists and dieticians.
Besides nutritional data, information on standard international protocols followed for generating the information and other technical aspects are also available.
Enhancing the utility of fish in human nutrition by creating awareness on the nutritional composition of food fishes.
Generation of nutrient composition data of important food fishes from India.
