ICAR-Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute,Barrackpore in collaboration with Depatment of Fisheries, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh has organized 1 (One)day awareness cum input distribution at Seeh lake, Lower Subansiri District,Ziro on 28th March’2026,marking the first ever introduction of 2 sets of HD PEN in Seeh lake which is low cost, durable and easy to operate fish culture and fishing systems for sustainable inland fisheries and to enhance fish and seed production.

The programme was attended by Shri Tagi Yonggam,Deputy Director of Fisheries,Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh,Itanagar,Smti Chiging Yadii,District Fisheries Development Officer, Keyi Panyor District ,Shri Liagi Lasa,District Fisheries Development Officer,Lower Subansiri District, Ziro along with the Officers/Officials of the Department of Fisheries, Lower Subansiri District, Ziro and Chairman’s/Secretary’s/Committee of the M/s Seeh Lake Multipurpose Cooperative Society Lid,Ziro.

Earlier, Shri L.Lasa, District Fisheries Development Officer, Lower Subansiri District, Ziro,welcomed Dr. Sullip Kr Majihi ,Head of ICAR-CIFRI Regional Centre, Guwahati, Shri Tagi Yonggam, Deputy Director of Fisheries,Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, Itanagar, Smti Chiging Yadii, District Fisheries Development Officer, Keyi panyor District and 50 participants of M/s Seeh Lake Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd, Ziro and also appreciated to Director of Fisheries, CIFRI,Barrackpore for support of HD PEN materials/equipment’s for sustainable inland fish culture .

During the programme Dr. Sullip Kr Majihi introduced ICAR-CIFRI -HD PEN and outline its role in promoting sustainable fisheries-based entrepreneurship and delivered details presentation on CIFRI-HD PEN and their advantages for inland fish culture systems. Shri Tagi Yonggam, Deputy Director of Fisheries,Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, Itanagar also spoke on the benefits of fish culture systems in lakes/reservoirs /rivers/ponds and tanks and role of the cooperative societies on fish culture management aspects . Later, Dr. Sullip Kr Majihi interacted with the fishers of M/s Seeh Lake Multipurpose Society Ltd, Ziro and discussed future requirements and opportunities in PEN /cage culture. He also emphasized on future collaboraion with the Fisheries Dpt. of Arunachal Pradesh in coming days to promote sustainable inland fisheries and enhance livelihoods of fishers in the state.
