ICAR Tournament (Eastern Zone) 2025: A Proud Sporting Showcase by ICAR-CIFRI

The ICAR Tournament (Eastern Zone) 2025 was held from 6 to 9 January 2026 at Bhubaneswar, Odisha, and was successfully organized by ICAR-CIFA at the Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar. The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from ICAR institutes across the Eastern Zone, fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, and institutional camaraderie.


The ICAR-CIFRI team delivered an impressive and spirited performance across multiple sporting disciplines, ranging from chess to court and field events. Demonstrating discipline, determination, and unity, the team upheld the true essence of competitive sports.
ICAR-CIFRI was able to bring home a respectable number of medals:

Among the distinguished medal winners were Dr. Sajina A. M., Dr. Suman Kumari, and Dr. Anjana Ekka, whose performances significantly contributed to the institute’s overall success. Beyond podium finishes, several team members reached semi-finals and closely contested matches, reflecting resilience, perseverance, and a strong competitive mindset.


The overall sporting activities and participation were carried out under the guidance and encouragement of Dr. B. K. Das, the Director, ICAR-CIFRI. The team’s coordination and performance were efficiently managed by Dr. Dibakar Bhakta, Chief-de-Mission (CDM), with valuable managerial support from Mr. Biswajit Barua (Manager).


The competition was an essential venue that served to improve inter-institutional bonding, promote physical health, and celebrate the sporting spirit that exists within the ICAR fraternity. The remarkable performance of ICAR-CIFRI at the Eastern Zone Tournament 2025 is a moment of pride for the institute.
