Action plan formulation meeting for Rabi Season campaign under Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan- 2025 hosted by CIFRI

An interactive meeting session in hybrid mode was organized by ICAR Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute (CIFRI), Barrackpore on 8th September, 2025 to formulate a plan of action for the Rabi Season campaign under Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan (VKSA) – 2025 to be held during 03-18 October, 2025. Previously, a workshop was also organized by CIFRI on 19th August, 2025 to mobilize all the ICAR institutes, RRCs, KVKs as well as the SAUs about the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan and its objectives so that all these organizations can contribute significantly in successfully conducting the forthcoming Rabi season campaign under VKSA-2025.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. B.K. Das, Director, ICAR-CIFRI, Nodal Officer of the Rabi Season Campaign for West Bengal and Dr. Pradip Kumar Dey, Director, ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Kolkata also co-chaired the meeting being present in virtual mode. Besides, Dr. Subhadeep Ghosh, ADG (Marine Fy.) ICAR, Co-Nodal Officer, VKSA-Bengal, Dr. D. B. Shakyawar, Director, ICAR-NINFET, Head/In-Charges/representatives of three SAUs, all the ICAR-Institutes, RRCs, KVKs of West Bengal participated in the meeting virtually. At the onset of the meeting, Dr. B. K. Das, Director, CIFRI, in his welcome address, shared the experience gained during the pre-kharif campaign and urged all the participating organizations to mobilize their staff to get actively involved in the programme to make the programme effective. He also asked all to inform immediately if they face any difficulty in organizing the programme. Dr. Pradip Dey also urged all the organizations to form the group of experts within one day so that any revision, if required, can be done and finally submitted to the council at the earliest and also informed that on 3rd October, 2025 the inauguration of the VKSA Rabi Season will be done and therefore route map, plan of action have to be chalked out. Dr. Kalyan Sundar Das, Nodal Officer, ATARI highlighted the immediate actionable points to the participants.
In the interactive session, a number of important issues were raised by the participating organizations such as source of fund, difficulties in gathering farmers during Bengal’s festive season, formation of team with multidisciplinary team members etc. Dr. Das and Dr. Dey agreed upon the points and assured that all these issues will be taken into consideration during formulating the plan of action for the campaign. At the end of the meeting, Dr. B. K. Das, Director, CIFRI offered his thanks to all the participating organizations to be present virtually in the meeting and provided their valuable inputs for coming out with a proper plan of action to make the campaign a grand success. Overall the meeting was successful in generating the considerable issues to be included during formulation of the plan of action for the Rabi season campaign of VKSA-2025 aligned with the national objectives of Viksit Bharat @2047.
